Why it won

Direction and arrival, not searching. It avoids browser frames, globes and magnifiers entirely, reads as movement at any size, and collapses to a single solid node at 16 px.

Retired

The two directions that were not taken.

Described in words only. Their colour tokens and typefaces were removed from the runtime, so nothing here renders in a retired theme.

  • Direction 2 — Passport

    Retired

    An admission seal: a stamped arc closing around a solid mark.

    Why it was retired

    Forest and brass read as institutional archive rather than active discovery, and the paper tones conflicted with the pure white surface the Product Owner approved.

  • Direction 3 — Aperture

    Retired

    A ten-cell matrix resolving into one solid square.

    Why it was retired

    The clearest literal read of the ten-page mechanic, but too close to generic developer-tool teal and too quiet to carry a full-bleed cover.

    2026-09-01

    Production asset pass. Symbol, wordmark and lockups are produced as downloadable SVG; favicon, PWA icon and share-card raster sets are generated from the approved geometry. Design tokens ship as CSS and JSON, and the reusable copy pack ships as a text file. Retired directions removed from the runtime theme so only Waypoint tokens and its two typefaces load.

  2. v1.0.0-canonical

    2026-09-01

    Waypoint approved by the Product Owner as the canonical Bobby Website identity. Canonical primary refined to Bobby Orange #FF5F1F for a brighter, more luminous cover. Homepage opening rebuilt as a full-bleed orange cover with a white action card and flat animated background. Passport and Aperture retired to selection history.

  3. v0.1.0-candidate

    2026-09-01

    Three identity directions presented for review: Waypoint, Passport, Aperture.
